Who/What Is The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center?
Our Beginning and Mission:
Since beginning her Christian journey in 2007, Sister Mary has felt called to use the finances, talents, abilities, resources, and life experiences God has entrusted to her to serve and encourage others. Through her own life experiences, she has gained valuable lessons that she hopes to share with others in the hope of helping them avoid similar struggles and recognize the importance of seeking GOD's will rather than relying solely upon their own understanding and desires.
For more than ten years, Sister Mary has utilized her home as a place of community service, education, outreach, and resource-sharing. She has sought to make available the resources GOD has provided and the opportunities He has opened to her so that others within the community could benefit from them.
The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center was incorporated with the State of Tennessee on June 10, 2024. The church subsequently registered as a Soul Center through Christian Leaders Alliance. On July 17, 2024, the church transitioned from operating out of the founder's personal residence to its own dedicated facility.
Our mission is to encourage and empower individuals to develop or strengthen their personal relationship with GOD and, in turn, become equipped to disciple and encourage others throughout the many circumstances and settings of everyday life. Through worship, biblical education, fellowship, discipleship, community outreach, and access to Christian resources, we seek to help spread the Gospel and demonstrate Christ's love within our community and throughout the world.
One of the characteristics that makes The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center unique is that our ministry is entirely volunteer-based. No individual currently holds a paid position within the church. Our members maintain outside employment and voluntarily dedicate their time, talents, abilities, and resources to serving God and furthering the church's mission.
The Meaning Behind Our Name-------
1. "Safe Haven"
The first part of our name is "Safe Haven."
We want The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center to be a place where people feel safe to come as they are—to be authentic, transparent, and honest with God and themselves. We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to examine their lives, acknowledge areas in which they may have fallen short, seek forgiveness, repent, and pursue positive change when God places those areas upon their hearts.
Whether someone is seeking spiritual, emotional, mental, or physical support, we want to be a source of encouragement and compassion during times of need.
James 5:16: "Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."
Our goal is to provide an environment where people can seek GOD without fear of judgment and where they can begin or continue the process of healing, growth, accountability, and transformation.
2. "Grace"
The second part of our name is "Grace."Grace represents the forgiveness and unconditional love that GOD extends to humanity through Jesus Christ, His obedience, and His ultimate sacrifice on the cross.
We recognize that none of us has lived a perfect, sin-free life. Scripture reminds us that every person falls short of GOD's perfect standard, while Jesus Christ provides the ultimate example of obedience, forgiveness, love, and grace.
Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Grace reminds us that our past mistakes do not have to determine our future. Through a personal relationship with GOD, we can receive forgiveness, grow in our faith, and pursue the person GOD created us to become.
3. "Worship Center"
The final part of our name is "Worship Center." We seek to provide a physical location where individuals can gather together to worship GOD openly, learn HIS Word, build relationships with other Christ-followers, and grow in their faith.
Our doors are open to anyone who is intentional about beginning or strengthening their personal relationship with GOD.
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE.
We believe GOD invites us to come with an open heart and a willing spirit—to listen for HIS direction, receive His message, and experience HIS unconditional love.
Your Identity in Christ:
We believe that GOD created every person intentionally and that our ultimate identity is found in HIM and in Christ—not in the negative labels, circumstances, mistakes, or messages that may attempt to define us.
GOD chose to create each of us, and we believe every person has inherent value and purpose as HIS creation. Scripture describes God's workmanship as something intentionally created for HIS purposes.
Our desire is to serve as a source of support, encouragement, and empowerment so that individuals can recognize who they are in Christ and understand that their past, their circumstances, and the opinions of others do not determine their worth.
You are chosen, created, valued, and loved by GOD.
What We Believe:
At The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center, we believe that Jesus Christ was sent as a living example of GOD's Word to teach, guide, and demonstrate what it means to live in obedience to God.
We believe Jesus taught the importance of repentance, baptism, obedience, faith, and developing a personal relationship with God. We seek to follow
His example as we pursue our own relationship with God and encourage others to do the same.
As Christ-followers, we believe we are strongest when we intentionally pursue Christ and strive to demonstrate His character and qualities in our relationships with one another and within our communities.
Our congregation is not a group of people claiming to be perfect. Rather, we are a community of imperfect people navigating this temporary physical
life while seeking to follow GOD's direction, discover HIS purpose for our lives, and faithfully participate in the plans HE has for us.
Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ GOD forgave you."
How We Live Out Our Mission:
We seek to fulfill our mission through several areas of ministry, including:
-
Worship through music, biblical teaching, sermons, and fellowship.
-
Bible studies and educational opportunities designed to help individuals understand and apply God's Word.
-
Sermon series and small groups that encourage spiritual growth and meaningful relationships.
-
Discipleship and fellowship through supporting, encouraging, and empowering one another in the circumstances of everyday life.
-
Community service and outreach by responding to needs within our community as GOD leads and provides opportunities.
-
Christian resources and educational materials that individuals can utilize as they continue developing their relationship with God.
We recognize that spiritual growth is a lifelong process. Our goal is not perfection, but continued growth, obedience, accountability, compassion, and a willingness to allow God to transform our lives.
Our Vision for Our Church Family:
GOD's vision for The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center is for us to be cheerleaders for one another—people who love, encourage, support, challenge, and hold one another accountable through the good, the bad, and the difficult seasons of life.
We believe that loving someone does not mean ignoring unhealthy choices or behaviors. Genuine Christian love can include compassion, encouragement, honesty, accountability, and a willingness to help one another pursue GOD's higher purposes.
As a church family:
-
We believe in personal responsibility.
-
Each individual has ownership and responsibility for his or her choices, actions, reactions, and efforts. Those choices also carry consequences, whether positive or negative.
-
We celebrate progress.
-
Every positive effort matters. Every step forward is progress, regardless of how small it may seem.
-
We seek to empower rather than tear down.
-
We seek to encourage one another, build one another up, and help one another recognize our God-given value rather than contributing to the negativity that people may already experience from the world around them.
-
We value Christian fellowship.
-
When we intentionally allow other Christ-followers into our lives, we create relationships that can provide strength, encouragement, accountability, and support through life's challenges.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 reminds us of the strength and support that can be found when people walk through life together.
We are Christ-followers. We have the ultimate example to follow in Jesus Christ. His life provides us with the model of love, compassion, forgiveness, obedience, humility, service, and faithfulness that we strive to demonstrate in our own lives.
Our Invitation:
The Safe Haven Grace Worship Center is a place for people who desire to seek God, grow in their faith, develop meaningful relationships with other Christ-followers, serve their community, and discover how God can use their lives for HIS purposes.
You do not have to be perfect to come through our doors.
You simply need to be willing to come with an open heart and a desire to seek GOD.
You are welcome.
You are valued.
You are created by GOD.
You are enough in HIS eyes.
